The course is a continuing education certification course for divers who wish to increase their understanding and enjoyment of diving. Emphasis is on student participation, practical application of knowledge and awareness in the open water environment. This course is an excellent progression toward NAUI Leadership roles.

What it means to be a NAUI Master Scuba Diver
- It is an elite, non-professional rating for accomplished recreational divers.
- It indicates extensive experience and training in a variety of diving situations and interests.
Course Prerequisites:
- minimum 15 years of age
- certification as a NAUI Advanced Open Water Diver or equivalent
- certification as a NAUI Rescu Diver or equivalent

A level of active and positive participation will be observed. The ability to serve as a mentor and a willingness to follow directions. A positive atitude towards student divers, certified divers and professional dive staff. A demonstration of caring and practice towards the environment.
